"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn."
~Ben Franklin

Welcome to fourth grade! I am so glad to be a part of the amazing faculty at Hodges Manor Elementary School and I am so very much looking forward to working with you!
As a child, I always "played school" with my two younger sisters. I was the teacher and they were my begrudgingly obliging students; nonetheless, they spent many hours in my "classroom," and many were the field trips to our neighborhood pond to study nature. Looking back on those days, I realize that teaching has been a lifelong passion. Since then, I have taught preschool and private school students. At East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, I earned Bachelor and Master degrees in Sacred Music, Organ Performance, and Teaching (Elementary Education). As Ben Franklin puts it, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn," which is not only a motto from which I have learned, but one that fuels my passion for teaching. With that said, I would like to welcome you to our classroom. Here, I want students to feel safe, welcomed, and empowered. In our classroom, students will find high expectations that are easily attainable with courage, dedication, and persistence. Together, we will work to cultivate each student's potential and motivation to learn. Again, welcome! Mr. Price |
