The Rules of Our Classroom

Hodges Manor is a PBIS School (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support). The three primary rules are determined by our school, BUT the students in this classroom have decided what each one looks like in our classroom:
1. Be Responsible
  • Keep your area clean and neat.
  • Clean up behind yourself.
  • Always do your duty.
  • Be focused and ready.
  • Copy all homework assignments and do them every night.
2. Be Respectful
  • Don't run inside.
  • Help out where you can.
  • Always respect others.
  • Always use your manners.
  • Follow all directions.
  • Don't interrupt others.
3. Be Ready to Learn
  • Bring all your things to class every day.
  • Take home every thing you need. (ALL notebooks!!)
  • Please pay attention.
  • Never give up!
Cheating will not be tolerated!
If any student is caught cheating, s/he will receive a ZERO on the assignment and a phone call home. The student will not have the option to make up the assignment. You can only go so far in life on the backs of others. Work hard and go far!

Bullying is absolutely unacceptable.
Learn this early and know the signs of bullying behavior. The effects of bullying are far too negative to allow it to occur in our classroom. My students and I are a family, a team, and we want to see each other succeed and celebrate our successes. Dr. Maya Angelou once said, "Hate has caused a lot of problems in this world, but it has not solved one yet."
  • For more information on bullying and ways to recognize, prevent, and respond to bullying, please visit www.stopbullying.gov.

Classroom Management

Mr. Price expects each student to contribute to the management of our classroom. This is why we have duties. The students help develop the rules and consequences for when those rules are broken.

General Consequences, in order of severity:
  • Verbal warning or private conference
  • Isolation desk (to prevent student from disrupting classmates)
  • Phone call home, with student present
  • Bounce (sent to another room for a cool-down period)
  • Silent Lunch (duration to be determined based on behavior)
  • Office Referral for recurring behavior issues; possible suspension
-----------
  • For repetitive bullying, the student will write an apology letter that must be approved and signed by Mr. Price and the student's parent before being delivered to the victim.
